Form is nothing without function.

The weather's turning, Dubai Fitness Challenge is on the horizon, and the city is about to get a lot more active. Most watches aren't built for that shift. They're styled to look sporty, then sit still the rest of the year. This EDIT is for the ones that don't need that compromise.

Tried and Tested

The Victorinox I.N.O.X. Chrono doesn't claim durability, it's been tested for it. Victorinox famously put the I.N.O.X. through 130 individual endurance tests, run over by a tank, dropped from a building, frozen solid, and it still kept time. The Chrono carries that same engineering into a stopwatch function, built for the days that actually need tracking.

The wider I.N.O.X. family keeps the same philosophy across different case finishes and colourways, lightweight enough to forget you're wearing it, solid enough that you don't have to think twice before a run, a swim or a weekend hike.

For a smaller wrist, the I.N.O.X. Small (32mm, quartz) brings the same engineering to a compact steel case and bracelet, with a black dial. It’s built for shock and water resistance, and its ISO-certified antimagnetic protection keeps it accurate around induction hobs, phones and electric cars.

Built for the Water

The DOXA SUB 200 II Redcoral doesn't just look like a dive watch, it's rated to genuinely function as one. A 200m water resistance rating and a bezel built for real dive timing. The coral dial is a nod to DOXA's own diving heritage, a brand that's spent decades underwater before showing up on a wrist on dry land.

The Chronograph, Reconsidered

The Tutima Flieger Legacy T5 Chrono-DD takes its cues from aviation instruments, where a chronograph wasn't decorative, it was how pilots timed manoeuvres mid-flight. The Horween leather strap keeps it grounded, but the 41mm case and black dial still carry that same utilitarian clarity.

The Cerruti Ruscello Chronograph takes a different route into the same category, a 46x54mm case paired with a navy silicone strap built to handle sweat, water and movement without complaint.

Made for Her Pace

Active days call for watches that sit comfortably and stay out of the way. The Movado SE (33mm, quartz) pairs a black dial with a black ceramic strap in a stainless steel case, a hard-wearing combination that looks as sharp at the end of the day as it did at the start.

The GC Prodigy Lady (34mm, quartz) has a white dial that’s easy to read at a glance, set in a gold-tone steel case with a matching bracelet, for a bit of warmth on a morning walk or a weekend ride.

These watches are built to survive the gym, the trail, the dive, whatever the day actually throws at them. That's the only requirement that matters once the weather turns and the city starts moving again.
