Introducing SILSILA, a collaboration between EDIT by Ahmed Seddiqi and SUBKO, born from a shared appreciation for the things that reveal themselves over time.

Through THEN / NOW / BEYOND, we follow three UAE-based cultural artists, exploring the experiences that shaped them, the ideas driving their work today, and what they’re carrying into the future.

Three people. Three creative practices. One story still unfolding.

Host of the New Year's Eve gathering. Known for his extravagant taste, art collection and flair for the
dramatic. Invited all four guests to his mansion. Polished, charismatic and commanding.
Meticulous in his planning and accustomed to being in control. Personally greets each guest with varying
degrees of familiarity. Refuses to reveal the evening's purpose until the unveiling. Abruptly grabs
Zayd's wrist when he approaches the artefact. Oversaw podium installation earlier in the day

With a touch of lovable cringe—he thinks he's impossibly cool, even when his elaborate speeches leave the room slightly uncomfortable.

CASTING DIRECTION

Looking for a male actor aged 34–40. Preferred to look distinctly Middle Eastern appearance rather than a conventionally European look. Warm olive-to-medium complexion, dark curly hair, expressive eyes and strong, distinctive features. His exact nationality can remain open, allowing for a contemporary, multicultural identity.
